Mimo
Local-first meeting notes for macOS
Mimo is a native macOS app built for people who want to stay focused during meetings without worrying about where their conversations go. It captures mic and system audio, runs transcription on-device, and produces structured notes you can sync to Notion or Google Drive — only when you choose to.
Key Features
On-device Recording
Capture microphone and system audio directly on your Mac. No audio ever leaves your device unless you explicitly enable integrations.
Local Transcription
Powered by whisper.cpp running entirely on your machine. Fast, private, and works offline.
AI Summaries
Generate concise meeting summaries with action items. Optionally delegate to OpenAI API — you control when data is sent.
Notion Integration
Push notes and summaries to your Notion workspace via OAuth. Connect once, sync on demand.
Google Drive Export
Export transcripts and summaries as documents to your Google Drive. Optional and user-initiated.
Focused Workflow
Minimal interface designed to stay out of your way. Open Mimo, start recording, close Mimo. That's it.
Pricing
Free for the first 5 uses. $5 one-time purchase for unlimited access.
FAQ
Is my audio sent to the cloud?
No. By default, all recording and transcription happens on your Mac. Audio is never transmitted externally. If you enable the optional OpenAI integration for AI summaries, transcript text (not audio) is sent to OpenAI's API under their privacy policy.
Which macOS versions are supported?
Mimo requires macOS 13 Ventura or later. Apple Silicon is required.
What happens to my data if I uninstall Mimo?
Your recordings and transcripts are stored in your local app data directory. Uninstalling Mimo does not automatically delete this data. You can remove it manually from ~/Library/Application Support/Mimo.
Is Notion / Google Drive connection required?
No. Both integrations are entirely optional. Mimo works fully offline without any account or cloud connection.
How does pricing work?
Mimo is free for your first 5 uses. After that, a one-time purchase of $5 unlocks unlimited access permanently. There is no subscription.
